What is an eBook?

An eBook is a book that exists in the electronic world only. It is read by opening its file and reading it via one of the recommended readers. We use PDF which can be read on any computer and a few other devices.

What formats do you support?

Most of our books are in PDF format - which requires that you have a copy of Adobe Acrobat 6 or 7 Reader - free from Adobe.com. They can be read on your computer screen

PDF format (stands for portable document format) can be easily read and easily printed. You can zoom in and out, make it fit a page, display it in continuous feed (scroll mode) or facing pages. It displays color as well as black & white. It is heavily used for all technical documentation across the high-tech industry. It has been around for over a decade and runs on most computer platforms (Mac, PC and UNIX-types).

Three chapters or 50 pages of all technical books will be in HTML on a page-hit recording companion site.

We will evaluate other formats when we feel it is necessary.

How Big is the File?

Technical textbooks with a great deal of illustrations and tables, and allowing for some photography, can be up to 20MB (MegaBytes). This is fairly large and we recommend that you have DSL or a cable connect, or at least high-speed dial-up to effect a download.

A typical text book runs from 200 to 750 pages in PDF.

Advantage of eBook Publishing

People attribute many advantages to eBooks. The biggest one is that it is cheaper to produce since paper, shipping and taxes are not invloved.

They are also portable, don't clutter your bookshelves, can travel easily, you can zoom in and out to accommodate your vision, and you can get them as soon as you want them without leaving your house (unless you download at a store).

ISBN Number

We will assign one to your book if you have not. This includes the bar code.
